Schundler Campaign Hits the Road
‘Sledgehammer’ Tour to Debut on GSP
(WEST ORANGE, AUGUST 17) – Schundler for Governor Campaign Manager Bill Pascoe issued the
following statement today:
|
“Whoever said the shortest route between two points is a straight line never drove the Garden State Parkway in
the dog days of August. Have you seen it lately? Traffic is backed up. Drivers miss business appointments.
Parents get home late for dinner. Vacations at the Jersey Shore get ruined. The tolls are absolutely
unreasonable, unnecessary and unforgivable.
|
|
“The good news is that this problem can be solved. We just need a leader with the courage to say ‘enough is
enough.’ Bret Schundler is that leader. As Governor, Bret Schundler will take a sledgehammer to the Parkway
tollbooths.
|
“Starting today, the Schundler for Governor campaign will travel the Parkway alongside New Jersey’s drivers to
remind them that the days of the Parkway tolls are numbered. We will have a 28-foot trailer, complete with
banners, driving along New Jersey’s major roadways to let commuters know that help is on the way.”
|
The trailer will stop for gas and respite at major points along the GSP, including the Raritan Toll Plaza and
Bergen County.
