Where is New Jersey?

New Jersey is a peninsula in the northeast United States.

On the west and south the Delaware River and Delaware Bay, separates New Jersey from Pennsylvania and Delaware. To the east the Atlantic Ocean, the Hudson River, Arthur Kill, Kill van Kull, and New York Bay, provides the perimeter from New York.

A 1769 agreement between what were then the colonies of New Jersey and New York defines the 48 mile long northern boundary:

From the Delaware River in the northwest to the Hudson River in the southeast:

On the northwest, the branch of the Delaware River and the Neversink River (called the Mahackamack in the orginal agreement) -- latitude of 41 deg. 21 min. and 37 seconds. This point is designated as TriStates Rock.
On the southeast, latitude of 41 degrees "which falls at a Rock on the West Side of Hudson's River marked by the said surveyors, being 79 Chains and 27 Links to the Southward on a Meridian from Sneydon's House formerly Corbet's." The marker of the eastern terminus is called Station Rock.
